Mashups Could Eliminate Swivel-Chair Integrations

Raleigh, NC, January 11, 2010 – Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. Convertigo’s software will allow I-Cubed to integrate their customers’ ERP, PLM, CRM, and CMS systems into a seamless application interface for Web2.0 initiatives.

Developers know all too well the “swivel-chair” integration required to combine two or more enterprise systems. Mashups allow coding to be soft-wired from the native systems, similar to widgets, and allows information to be presented as a single, seamless interface, comparable to a dashboard user experience.

Global Healthcare Company Selects Raleigh-based I-Cubed

(I-Cubed), the Engineering Business Integration (EBI) company, announces the launch of their hosted product lifecycle management (PLM) practice for Windchill®, the business collaboration software that enables development efficiencies and reduces errors and rework.

In the past, outsourcing enterprise PLM to an application service provider (ASP) has been the exception in the marketplace and not the rule, since product information is usually very confidential. Typical enterprise PLM deployments are so highly customized that the installations are complex and lengthy. I-Cubed’s approach makes the ASP option an attractive alternative. “We were able to meet a very aggressive schedule for a global healthcare company that required deployment in weeks instead of months,” said Robin Yates, Director, Emerging Technologies at I-Cubed. “We believe that providing a hosted solution for PLM helps companies stay focused on product development and innovation versus worrying about IT.”
