I-Cubed Names Distinguished Group of Industry Leaders to Board of Advisors
Raleigh, NC, January 15, 2010 – Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. (I-Cubed™), the Engineering Business Integration (EBI) company, announced today that Fred Hutchison, Yogesh Shinde and Troy Tolle have been appointed to the company’s newly formed Board of Advisors (BOA). These distinguished individuals will provide the necessary strategic direction to move I-Cubed into the next phase of growth.
The I-Cubed BOA members offer an essential source of expertise in the key areas of acquisitions, cloud-computing and PLM technology. They will contribute guidance to I-Cubed’s meeting its business objectives and long-term strategic goals moving forward. The BOA members are expected to provide insight and critique so that I-Cubed can exceed the expectations of its partners and customers, and provide value to its employee shareholders.
“It is my responsibility to make informed decisions about the direction of the company,” says Donald A. Thompson, Jr., President and CEO of I-Cubed. “It is critical in this position to have access to people with high integrity and strong business acumen to guide us in the right direction. Fred, Yogesh and Troy are leaders in their respective fields, and equally as important, have a passion for innovation, mentoring, and a commitment to delivering candid feedback to the I-Cubed management team.”
Fred Hutchison is Managing Partner at Hutchison Law Group, a Raleigh, NC based firm representing many of the premier technology and life science companies in the Southeast. Fred works with a variety of companies, from startups and university spinouts to publicly held companies, and focuses his practice on venture capital, securities and mergers and acquisitions. Fred and his firm have represented I-Cubed for several years and, in 2005, Fred was the lead attorney during I-Cubed’s asset sale to Adobe systems.
Yogesh Shinde is Senior Director of Technology Engineering at Ingenix, a UnitedHealth Group company focused on Health Management and Decision Support solutions. Prior to joining Ingenix, Yogesh was a member of the engineering management staff at PTC where he led development of design collaboration applications for PTC’s Windchill Enterprise PLM suite and served as a technical liaison for I-Cubed. Yogesh has the unique ability to apply technical expertise in a business context, which is a rare skill to have and difficult expertise for a small company to acquire. Yogesh will help I-Cubed create structure and programs to enhance the development of its new products and mentor its technologists.
Troy Tolle is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Digital Chalk, an online educational software company offering web-based platforms for e-learning and continuing education. As a champion of cloud computing Troy pushes the envelope for what can be done in education to build for the future. Troy is a leader in cloud technology and has been called on numerous times by Amazon’s cloud technology team for feedback on emerging technologies. Troy is the author of multiple patent applications in the arena of synchronized multimedia and video authoring using cloud technology. The expertise that Troy brings will allow I-Cubed to evolve smoothly into the cloud computing arena.

I-Cubed Announces Partnership with Convertigo
Raleigh, NC, January 11, 2010 – Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. (I-Cubed), the Engineering Business Integration (EBI) Company, announces formation of a strategic partnership with Convertigo, Inc., a global leader in Enterprise Mashups. Convertigo’s software will allow I-Cubed to integrate their customers’ ERP, PLM, CRM, and CMS systems into a seamless application interface for Web2.0 initiatives.
Developers know all too well the “swivel-chair” integration required to combine two or more enterprise systems. Typically, integrations of multiple enterprise systems require tightly woven APIs and customized scripts that only last until the next software release. Mashups allow coding to be soft-wired from the native systems, similar to widgets, and allows information to be presented as a single, seamless interface, comparable to a dashboard user experience.
"I-Cubed’s heritage has been to bridge complex engineering data across the enterprise…” said Lewis Kennebrew, Vice President, Professional Services, at I-Cubed. “Developing mashups would be an evolution of that history, enabling our customers to create integrations that will last over time and facilitate rapid application development.”
Gartner recently identified enterprise mashups as number five of the “10 Most Disruptive Technologies” that will shape the IT landscape over the next five years. They also predict that by 2010, 80% of new enterprise applications will contain mashups. To find out how I-Cubed uses mashups to bridge enterprise systems, visit www.i-cubed.com.
About Convertigo
Convertigo offers a platform to develop Web 2.0 applications simply, quickly, and at a lower cost than traditional development. Already recognized as a major player in Enterprise 2.0, Convertigo has the most complete platform for Enterprise Mashup available in the market.

RTP Tech Company I-Cubed Celebrates 25th Anniversary
Raleigh, NC, December 31, 2009 – Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. (I-Cubed), the Engineering Business Integration (EBI) company, is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary ─ the best year ever! I-Cubed experienced a banner year in 2009 despite the widespread downturn in the economy.
A number of factors contributed to significant revenue growth of 36% and increased profitability in 2009: key wins within the aerospace/defense, automotive, and telecommunications industries; product and partner diversification; and the addition of 2 new executives, 10 new employees, and 3 new channel partners. I-Cubed is celebrating these successes along with the company’s 25th anniversary in 2010.
Founder Grant Willard started I-Cubed, in 1984, upon graduation from NC State University with the development of CAD-PACK, a 2D drafting tool that was originally developed as educational software for computer-aided design (CAD). CAD-PACK allowed users to gain valuable design experience without consuming expensive seat time on mainframe CADAM and is still in use today. Over the last 25 years, I-Cubed has played an integral role in the history of CAD development, having licensed their technologies to software giants such as Adobe®, AutoDesk®, and Parametric Technologies Corporation (PTC®).
In 2006, I-Cubed became an employee-owned company and transitioned leadership to current President and CEO, Donald A. Thompson, Jr. Since the transition, I-Cubed has diversified its product and service offerings to include a broader global services practice, data migration services, and new products for supply-chain collaboration.

I-Cubed Launches Hosted Product Lifecycle Management Solution
Raleigh, NC, December 15, 2009 – Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. (I-Cubed), the Engineering Business Integration (EBI) company, announces the launch of their hosted product lifecycle management (PLM) practice for Windchill®, the business collaboration software that enables development efficiencies and reduces errors and rework.
In the past, outsourcing enterprise PLM to an application service provider (ASP) has been the exception in the marketplace and not the rule, since product information is usually very confidential. Typical enterprise PLM deployments are so highly customized that the installations are complex and lengthy. I-Cubed’s approach makes the ASP option an attractive alternative. “We were able to meet a very aggressive schedule for a global healthcare company that required deployment in weeks instead of months,” said Robin Yates, Director, Emerging Technologies at I-Cubed. “We believe that providing a hosted solution for PLM helps companies stay focused on product development and innovation versus worrying about IT.”
I-Cubed, a PTC® Platinum Advantage Partner, has been implementing PLM systems since 1996; therefore, the best practices, personnel, and systems were already in place. The addition of the ASP practice gives PTC customers an alternative to accelerate a deployment-in-process or add a division/department that would normally wait until budgets or IT resources were available.
In addition, I-Cubed offers other ASP solutions for business process integration, including Adobe® LiveCycle® Enterprise Suite 2, Adobe Mosaic® and Convertigo’s Enterprise Mashup Server. Later in 2010, I-Cubed will also begin offering PTC’s Windchill ProductPoint, a cost-effective PLM solution based on Microsoft’s SharePoint® technology.

Adobe Selects I-Cubed as Gold Solution Partner
Recent Designation Builds on Series of Successes
Raleigh, NC, December 1, 2009 – Integrated Industrial Information, Inc. (I-Cubed), the Engineering Business Integration (EBI) company, is proud to announce the achievement of Gold Solution Partner, the highest designation in the Adobe® worldwide partner program.
Adobe’s Solution Partner Program is designed for companies that provide solution-based sales, system integration, services or extended products based on Adobe technology. The relationship began when Adobe acquired Navisware FileLine from I-Cubed in 2006. FileLine is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) technology for computer aided design (CAD) and enterprise intelligence, which has been integrated into Adobe LiveCycle® Enterprise Suite 2.
“The partnership with Adobe enables I-Cubed to develop Rich Enterprise Applications (REA) with best-in-class development tools and is an important step in providing innovative user experiences for our customers,” said Donald A. Thompson, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of I-Cubed.
I-Cubed is building on earlier successes with Adobe by launching SuppliPack™, an application for supply chain collaboration. SuppliPack automates the combination of 2D/3D CAD views, CAD models and supporting documentation into a single 3D PDF that is rights managed using Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management ES2 module.
SuppliPack is developed using Adobe’s Flex® technology to provide a small footprint application that works in context of a CAD session to easily gather design assets from a variety of sources into a quickly assembled, lightweight design package. SuppliPack was awarded Honorable Mention at Adobe MAX 2009 in the category of Enterprise Productivity.

We want to offer our customers a complete end-to-end solution for Windchill deployments. Our customers’ engineering data is their most precious asset and I-Cubed understands how to transport it with care,” says Scott Carmichael, vice president, NxRev.
